Issued during the reign of King Christian V, this copper 1 Cash (1 Kas) was struck for circulation in Danish India, primarily at the Danish settlement of Tranquebar (Tharangambadi) on the Coromandel Coast. The obverse displays the crowned royal C5 monogram, symbolizing the authority of the Danish Crown, while the reverse features the crowned DOC monogram, representing the Danish East India Company, accompanied by the initials of the company officials.
