1 Drachm copper/bronze coin of the Principality of Kota Kula. Kota Kula included Bactria in Central Asia and parts of North Western India, and was ruled by Kidarites or Kidara Huns, These were also known as Huna in India. The Kidarite Kingdom bordered the Gupta empire to the East, Kushanas to the South and the Persian empire to the West. The obverse of the coin features an image of Lord Shiva with Nandi bull, while the reverse has the emblem of the Kota Kula. The coins are hand struck and approximately circular in shape.
The Koth Kula is a small tribal community in Punjab, known for its distinct cultural heritage and historical roots in the region. They trace their ancestry to ancient Punjab, where they were traditionally engaged in agriculture and pastoral activities. The tribe has maintained strong kinship ties and follows a patriarchal system of governance. Over the centuries, the Koth Kula have adapted to changing socio-political dynamics, while retaining their unique customs and traditions. Their identity is deeply tied to the land, and they continue to play a role in the agricultural economy of rural Punjab.
