Krishna Devaraya, the greatest ruler of the Tuluva Dynasty of the Vijayanagar Empire (1509–1529 CE), presided over a period of remarkable military strength, cultural brilliance, and economic prosperity. A celebrated patron of Telugu, Kannada, and Sanskrit literature, he authored the famed Amuktamalyada.
