Saif al-Din al-Hasan Qarlugh, ruler of the Qarlughid dynasty (1238–1249 CE), controlled the crucial frontier between Ghazni, Bamiyan, and the Salt Range, a region deeply connected with North-West India. After the fall of the Ghaznavids and Ghurids, the Qarlughids preserved authority over trade and military routes entering the Indian plains. Hasan Qarlugh maintained diplomatic and political interaction with the Delhi Sultanate, using strategic alliances to safeguard his independence. His billon 1 Jital influenced early Indo-Islamic coinage, bearing his grand titles on the obverse and a horseman with standard on the reverse, a motif also common in contemporary Indian issues. Tye #345 – Extremely Rare. Reference: Verified by Numismatician Mr. Shahbaz Alam and listed in Indian Coin Mart.
