The Shivaganga Rajas under Sasivarnadeva ruled during 1730–1750 CE, a period marked by regional consolidation and strong devotion to Hindu traditions. Sasivarnadeva is remembered as a capable ruler who maintained the independence of the Shivaganga estate amid rising pressures from neighboring powers such as the Nayakas and the early Nawabs of Arcot. His administration supported temples, local agriculture, and village institutions, strengthening cultural life in the region.
