Ghiyath Shah Khalji was the Sultan of Malwa from 1469 to 1500 AD and the son of Mahmud Shah I. A ruler known more for his cultural and literary patronage than military conquest, Ghiyath Shah maintained a lavish court at Mandu, supporting scholars, poets, and artists. His reign marked a period of relative peace and prosperity in the Malwa Sultanate. He was also known for constructing the famed Jahaz Mahal and promoting education for women. His copper coinage, like this ½ Falus, reflects the regional artistry and Islamic calligraphy of the time, serving both economic and symbolic purposes in his court.
