Gautamiputra Yajna Sri Satakarni was one of the last prominent rulers of the Satavahana Dynasty, governing in the mid–2nd century CE. His reign marked a brief revival of Satavahana authority after a period of decline caused by internal fragmentation and pressure from the Western Kshatrapas. Yajna Sri successfully restored maritime and inland trade, strengthened coastal ports, and re-established state control over key routes linking the Deccan with western India. His coinage, struck in potin and lead, continued traditional Satavahana motifs such as the elephant and the Ujjaini symbol, reflecting religious continuity and regional influence. Issues in his name are scarce today, representing the final phase of Satavahana political cohesion and artistic expression.
