He introduced the Rupiya, the silver currency that later became the basis of India’s modern monetary system. This copper 1 Dam (Paisa), minted in Narnol, weighs Weight: 20.75 g and features a rare and beautifully engraved Islamic star symbol, seen on very few coins. The obverse bears his title “Abu al-Muzaffar Sultan Sher Shah” with the mint, while the reverse praises his reign. Sher Shah’s coinage reflects his authority, precision, and legacy in Indian numismatics.
