The Shivaganga Rajas under Sasivarnadeva ruled during 1730–1750 CE, a period marked by regional consolidation and strong devotion to Hindu traditions. Sasivarnadeva is remembered as a capable ruler who maintained the independence of the Shivaganga estate amid rising pressures from neighboring powers such as the Nayakas and the early Nawabs of Arcot.
