Obverse: Features a left-facing bull with the Nagari legend “Sri Samanta Deva” above, representing the traditional Bull-and-Horseman coinage associated with northern India.

Reverse: Depicts a horseman riding to the right, surrounded by the Nagari legend “Sri Prithvi Raja Deva,” identifying the ruler associated with this issue.
Prithviraj III, popularly known as Prithviraj Chauhan, was a prominent ruler of the Chauhan dynasty who governed Ajmer and Delhi during the late 12th century. He became known for his military conflicts with Muhammad Ghori, including the First Battle of Tarain in 1191, in which Ghori’s forces were defeated, and the Second Battle of  Tarain in 1192, which resulted in Prithviraj’s defeat. His reign forms an important chapter in the political history of northern India. Prithviraj is also remembered in later literary traditions, particularly the Prithviraj Raso, although its accounts are not all accepted as contemporary historical evidence.
Coinage Note: This billon Jital belongs to the traditional Bull-and-Horseman coinage of northern India. The bull and horseman motifs, accompanied by Nagari legends, reflect established regional monetary designs that continued across successive rulers. The legend naming Prithvi Raja Deva connects the coin with Prithviraj III’s reign and makes it a notable example for collectors of medieval Indian coinage, particularly issues associated with the Chauhan dynasty.
