Rajeshvara Simha, also known as Siu-rem-pha, was a ruler of the Ahom Dynasty who reigned from SE 1673–1691 (1751–1769 CE) over the Ahom Kingdom of Assam. He was the son of Rudra Simha (Sukhrungpha), one of the most powerful Ahom kings, and continued the Tai-Ahom royal lineage that traced its ancestry to Sukaphaa, the founder of the dynasty. Rajeshvara Simha was the father of Lakshmi Simha, who succeeded him after his death.
His reign was marked by internal court intrigues and factional conflicts, weakening central authority. Externally, the Ahom state faced pressure from the Burmese (Ava Kingdom) and regional hill tribes, leading to repeated military confrontations, though no major territorial expansion occurred. Administratively, he continued temple patronage and upheld traditional Ahom-Hindu court culture.
In coinage, Rajeshvara Simha issued silver octagonal rupees and half-rupees with Sanskrit legends invoking royal authority and religious legitimacy. These coins reflect the mature phase of Ahom monetary tradition, blending Tai political identity with Hindu symbolism, and are today considered rare and historically significant.
