Nasir-ud-Din Qabacha ناصر الدین قباچہ emerged as a powerful ruler in Sindh and Multan after the decline of the Ghurids—like a lone commander shaping order on a shifting frontier. From 1203 CE onward, he strengthened his control over Multan, Uchh, and Sindh, adopting the proud title “Nasir al-Dunya wa’l-Din” (Helper of the worldly and the sacred). His rivalry with Sultan Iltutmish created political tremors across North India. Despite Mongol pressure and internal rebellions, Qabacha managed to hold his fragile kingdom together. But in 1228 CE he was finally defeated by Iltutmish, bringing his rule to an end.
